Chuck & Daisies - I WIN!

November 27th, 2007 at 6:05 am, 23 months ago

NBC & ABC, I love you!

Both Chuck and Pushing Daisies have received full season orders! (chuck source)

Now we just need to make sure it doesn’t end like last year. Studio 60 for the Sunset Strip. It started sucking very quickly after it got an order.

Oh, and the writers strike ending would be useful.

Big Gun Control

November 24th, 2007 at 10:22 pm, 23 months ago

I have come to a conclusion:

I don’t really like gun control, but I fully oppose very large weapon control.

I want the ability to be able to get a shoulder mounted rocket launcher and shoot it at stuff.

In a big field or something.

I mean, who is that hurting? Foxes?

And who cares about the foxes anyways?

2007 Business Expenses

November 24th, 2007 at 8:15 am, 23 months ago

I am working on finding my expenses for 2007.

Last year, I bought a laptop that I use for business purposes that cost more than my total independent contractor income…. (so I just said that I use like xx percent of the laptop for business purposes)

This year… searching, searching, searching…

The Wellness Center is Useful

Thank god for Loyola’s Wellness Center.
It is basically the school’s free-clinic. There are nurses there during business hours you can call and set an appointment up with. They handle all sorts of crazy non-emergency stuff.

Like what I did this morning.

I took a shower and when I got out I dryed off and opened the cabinet above the sink. I pulled out some Q-tips and started cleaning my ears. Pretty standard stuff. Until the cotton on the end of one of them fell off… into my ear.

Beautiful.

So there I am, not sure if there is cotton in my right ear or not. I had a hard time trying to figure out what was going on because I could ‘hear’ but not insanely well. It was weird.

Now I’m not a total idiot, I didn’t grab a tweezer and start digging in my ear (piercing an ear drum would probably hurt) but I didn’t want to just leave it. So I decided to call them and said ‘hey, I think there may be cotton in my ear. I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t want to have this in my ear for the next week, do you have any time this morning to check it out.’ They did, so I setup an appointment for 15 minutes later, got all of my stuff for classes and made my way over to the other side of campus.

After filling out all the forms I finally got up and met one of the nurses there. And sure enough, there was cotton in my ear. Which they managed to get out, after trying for a minute or so because it kept breaking up. From the way it sounded even if I had used a tweezers I probably wouldn’t have gotten it all out.

So there you go, a wonderful department at Loyola dedicated to helping students who have medical issues… especially weird ones like me.

Stupid personal hygiene.

I am going to BNAT 2007

I visit Aint It Cool News quite a bit. Mostly for TV-show news. Every year they hold an event called ‘Butt-numb-a-thon‘ where you stay up 24 hours straight to watch old and new (mostly unreleased) movies in December. And I GET TO GO!

Karl is tagging along and we already have tickets and a hotel booked. We fly out of Midway Airport on Friday, December 17th at 7:45 AM, stay overnight on the 17th at a hotel in Austin, and then walk down the street from the hotel to the theater for 24 hours of madness: Noon Saturday until Noon Sunday. Then we stay awake and fly back to Midway at 5:40 PM, arrive (hopefully) in Chicago at 8:30PM, and fall asleep in a cab on the way back to the apartment.
