Asking for money
I have come to one conclusion: I get asked for spare change/money wayyy too often in this city.
Every time I walk around… Especially this one woman who is out by the L. She asks very softly for change.
Now people need to realize this. 80%+ of these people are frauds. Total frauds. Do you have any idea the amount of cash you can make begging for money?? Sit out in raggid clothing, throw some dirt on your face, old shoes, and shivver enough with a cheap plastic cup with a bit of “starter money” and maybe have a nice sign. If you have a sign you don’t have to beg as much, but it always helps. Jingle the cup a bit. Instant profit.
Think about it this way: It is a busy street. Michigan Avenue perhaps. And you are out there for an hour during a very busy time. Figure 500 people go by you. If one out of every ten of them give you 50c you are making $25/hr. That is tax-free, by the way. Be out there in the morning during rush hour, and at night after rush hour… Then for a few hours on the weekends during tourist season. You could have a pretty nice business going playing on the sympathies of strangers.
