On Senator Craig

Let me start out by saying this: I honestly don’t think that Senator Craig is gay. Or that his intention in that bathroom was to have sex. It sounds like he got in a REALLY bad situation with a cop and there was a misunderstanding. Hey, it happens. Not a lot, but it does happen. People do stuff that they don’t even realize may be illegal or look illegal every day. It is mostly an issue of you getting caught.

Now, with this in mind, here is how the senator is an idiot: He pleaded guilty to the entire thing. Does he not realize that this stuff comes back to haunt you? He would have quite a few people behind him (hehe) during the entire thing and I think it would get thrown out rather quickly.

But no, he decided to plead guilty. Which not only means that he looks guilty, he admits that he is guilty.

Idiot.

Dear Flordia Democrats, Move Your Primary Back

August 25th, 2007 at 11:12 pm, 31 months ago

The DNC Rules Committee (whose members I have met before) are going to remove Flordia’s votes from the national convention if they go ahead and hold their presidential primary on January 29th, the same day as South Carolina.

I say good. The current plan of Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, and then South Carolina is a great plan. (Well, I wouldn’t have put Nevada in there, but Harry Reid (D-Nevada) IS the Senate Majority Leader.)

Now I am well aware that there is a law on the books in Flordia that puts a general election for both the republicans and democrats on that date, but that is no excuse to defy the DNC’s rules… even if it does mean less of a turn-out.

So hear-hear to the DNC and their threat to remove Flordia’s votes at the convention! Each state needs to play by the rules, and Flordia is no exception.

Exploring is fun

I went to the Shedd Aquarium yesterday and watched the dolphin show.

Then I came back and the bus I was on broke down in front of the John Hancock building. So I went into the Cheesecake Factory and had some cheesecake at the bar.

Then I went home on a totally packed bus. It turned out that there was room in the back of the bus, but some lady had her stroller taking up the entire middle aisle so everyone was stuck in the front. I was about ready to fall out the front door on the ride down Lakeshore drive. AHH!!!!

Today I woke up at 5:30 AM, checked my email, and went back to sleep at about 6:30 until noon.

My apartment is 30 feet from the L, so I have begun to live my life in 3 to 15 minute blocks (depending on what time of day it is.) Thank god I got a DVR otherwise I would miss quite a bit of the little TV I watch (Daily Show, Colbert Report, and a few news programs.)

More as it becomes… relevant

A great day to stay inside

Turns out that there is a flood warning here in Chicago. I was intending on going out today… but this seems to put a damper on that.

I should have invested in an umbrella.

Well… I’m here. I think

After a full day of moving fun I am finally here in Chicago… sorta. I have my desk, bed, futon, TV, Air Conditioner, Microwave, and a bunch of other misc stuff that needs to be filled with packed items.

I have my food items all setup. In that I have a spoon, Tupperware holder, milk and some cereal opened. That should last me until tomorrow (when the campus food-facilities open.) Actually, add on a trip somewhere for some dinner and that would be a pretty balanced meal for me :)

This apartment building is nice. I am glad that I found it. Not exactly the lap of luxury, but the price is great.

Perhaps I will post pictures at some point.
