NBC has these To Catch a Predator segments on their Dateline NBC. They work with an organization that acts as children in chat rooms (or other ways) and wait for someone to arrange for sex. Obviously with a minor.

Now I am all for stings to catch people who want to have sex with kids, but making this into an entertainment sensation?

This just makes me want to find these people, arrange meetings with them, and when they jump out of the bushes pull out a t-shirt that says “Hello Dateline!”
