Well I’m going to hell
I was talking last Friday with a guy who went to high school with me who became a born again Christian. Having just come from a Philosophy of Religion class (which I have in a half hour) I got into a discussion about Christianity with him. I told him that I was somewhat agnostic (questioning my belief in a higher power) but I grew up catholic and thought that the catholic way of life was reasonable (although I disagree with quite a bit of it.)
I brought up how there is no way you can know that there is a god. He said that god will show himself to you. He made the claim that satin exists and that the actions we do on earth, especially the ones that democrats support (abortion, gay marriage) will prevent me from ascending to heaven.
Wow. OK. So I’m destined to hell.
So of course I picked up the South Park defense of heaven and hell. I told him that he is going to hell because he wasn’t baptized into the one true church, the Catholic church. Then I said that we were both going to hell because we do not pray to the prophet Muhammad, and that we will never be reincarnated, or become one with the earth, or have our theatens saved from Xenu, or whatever.
Arug.
