Mittens

Somebody lost their Mittens. Or so says this anonymous sign on the door to the UWM Student Union. Somebody took enough time to make this sign, make a gmail account for the sign, and post it up on the door to the union. Kinda cool. My first try at my cell phone camera and iPhoto. Turned out pretty well. Click thumbnail below to see full picture.

My Ultimate Ambition

When I grow up I want to be either President or the host of The 700 Club.

The iPhone is going to be great… Well…….

January 23rd, 2007 at 10:42 pm, 3 years ago

I was watching the Steve Jobs 2007 MacWorld World Expo Keynote Address where he introduced Apple’s new phone. The iPhone.

Wow! Widescreen ipod! Finger scrolling! Non-linear voicemail!!! Google Maps!!! Wifi! Bluetooth! 3G…

Wait. No 3G broadband internet. Apple made this “next generation phone” and didn’t include what all phones are having standard now, cellular-based broadband?????

Wait. 4 and 8GB with the Operating System taking half a gig??? A single movie is 2GB. Put some podcasts and TV shows and you are maxing it out in with almost no work. There is a reason there are no Video iPods with less than 30GB of space, because video takes up HDD space no matter how you compress it.

Woah. No 3rd Party Support? You have to have your 3rd party apps approved by Apple??? Every phone out there can play J2EE apps, but you have to ask Apple for permission (perhaps even pay them) to put something on the consumer’s phone???

Oh, and no iTunes Music Store? And you won’t be able to use your songs as your ringtone???

Oh, and the price. $500 and $600????
AND YOU HAVE TO SIGN A 2 YEAR CONTRACT WITH… CINGULAR?????

This thing is total crap.

I’ll hold out with my nice Sprint 3G EVDO phone that will double as a broadband bluetooth modem. And if I want to listen to music or watch movies. I’ll just buy a damn Video iPod or bring my laptop around with me.

The First 4 Episodes of 24

January 7th, 2007 at 5:59 pm, 3 years ago

I just got done watching the first 4 episodes of 24 (don’t ask.)

Let me start this off with: Oh My God

It is absolutely great. Wayne Palmer as President, Jack coming back from China, the new terrorists, and the last part of the 4th episode, take 24 to an entirely new level.

If you can find it. Watch it.
