Well the MacBook Pro came
I am sitting here in the basement typing on my new 15″ 2.33Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Apple MacBook Pro. It is a thing of beauty! I loaded up Windows on it (to compliment OS X) and got all the necessary software (Including the new version of Photoshop, CS3) installed.
I only have a few complaints. First off, Office 2003 for Windows looks a thousand times better than the version for mad. The page layout look more like what you will get printed out, instead of a super-small document. I understand that there may be some instances where a Mac just won’t have the display space, but this is just total BS. I am searching for a replacement word processor, but I may just end up using Word 2003 for Windows and emulate it in OS X using Parallels.
This thing runs World of Warcraft and Half Life 2 based games perfectly (when I load up Windows.) It doesn’t get as hot as I thought it would (it gets very warm, however) as the fan seems to spin up quite a bit while playing these games. The fan can get annoying when you are in a dark quiet area of a game, but you learn to live with it. My desktop has a loud hum going on all the time and I have never really minded.
This thing that I like the most is the quality built in wireless and bluetooth. It is very easy to setup my networking preferences at any location and finding wireless networks is a breeze. I haven’t tried my bluetooth modem phone, but I am going on a trip today and will have to try it out.
So, I’m happy. Except for this fucking one button trackpad. Thank god I have an external mouse.
