I have been thinking a lot about Evan Bayh and a 2008 Presidental Run lately…

I think Indiana Senator Evan Bayh only wins Indiana because his father is so well known in the state (like Wisconsin’s Herb Kohl is known for his family history and commercial success)… Bayh is only the state’s senator because, well, he’s Evan Bayh… I just don’t know if that will translate into votes in other states where he does NOT have a history… Mark Warner is the real dark horse in 2008, and Evan Bayh running on that ticket would win the general election.. Not sure which one at which spot though. (I’m leaning Evan Bayh on the top, but another senator with a politician with 4 years experience ticket?) I think they are both great candidates and I will support both.

It is mostly that the democrats need to pick up the south, and Warner is loved in the south. I’m not saying I like his policies or that he would be the best president (Bayh has much more experience, especially in foreign affairs) but ELECTORIALLY he makes sense…

The real important thing here is Ohio. We need a candidate that can win Ohio. If we had a candidate that could lock up Ohio (Bayh,) grab some of the eastern southern states (VA is very attractive,) and a ticket that would look nice to moderates (which, if McCain gets the republican nod, the election will come down to a few million moderates)

Another state that I can’t really say is Flordia. Flordia has been the make-or-break state over the past two elections. I don’t know enough about Flordia…

I wonder what Wisconsin will go for. If Mark Green gets elected governor this fall Wisconsin will go red in 2008, otherwise it is going to be an interesting race here.

Picking between these two is a very hard thing for me to do. VERY hard. I’ll work with either side, I don’t care, just put these two on the ballot.

It is early, lets see if I change my mind.
