Whitefish High School Democrats

April 11th, 2006 at 10:27 pm, 3 years ago

Some referendum was put on a non-partisan ballot a few weeks ago. Should America pull out from Iraq. It passed. Everyone thinks Whitefish Bay, an affluent suburb, is conservative. It passed here.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. I co-founded the Whitefish Bay High School Democrats, which was the largest in the state (or so we said, we couldn’t find evidence otherwise.) Lets go over the story of The Whitefish Bay High School Democrats: I founded it with some guy that never seems to let me go on with my life, making this site his daily humor. Well, we just sort of say we co-founded it, I had the same idea he did at the same exact time, it was just a race to the activities director. He got there first, but just before me. He got elected president, I was made executive, but I did more for that group than for anyone else. I did more organizing than him anyways. His uncle is Russ Feingold, my political hero. I guess a family tree is never perfect.

Smells like smoke

April 11th, 2006 at 10:21 pm, 3 years ago

It isn’t that my day isn’t important. I’m sure there are a lot of useful things that happen during the day that I could partake in. Like walking, or working out, or some other activity that I doubt I will ever partake in.

I wish campaign time was back. I wish I was paid at a campaign, so I could help a ton of over people go with me to canvass.

As I sit here in the smokey coffee shop, a redbull to my right, I guess I am just musing about life. Do I really want to be in Milwaukee for the rest of my life? I miss Chicago. A lot. But reasons beyond my control bring me here, to home. I make a bit of money from steadfast networks and tonight I offered to fill up my parent’s car with gas. They said no. Idiots, now I am stuck with money in my PayPal account that has no purpose. I wanted to do something to make myself feel worth a little more than the guy who is living in their house and eating their food. I know they don’t mind, and I am very appreciative, but I don’t want to be here. I’m sad that I’m here.

Everywhere I look I see the exact thing. I’m annoying but useful. My ideas are genuinely good, but never implemented. My ideas are valuable, but need to be run through someone else before they see the light of day. This site has to be dangerous. I should add a bit ass warning to the header you see above this site. “Warning: this is unfiltered.”

Google Owes Me $35

April 10th, 2006 at 7:38 am, 3 years ago

I bet you have noticed that there is a ton of advertising on this site. All Google Adsense. Now it isn’t that I need money to keep this site running, it’s that I need small amounts of money per day that someday I will reach $50, a minimum amount that is required to get a check from Google.

So where does the $50 go to. Hmm. I haven’t decided yet. Do I want to spend it on misc goods like coffee and… well… coffee. Do I want to fill up my parent’s gas tank one time so that I don’t feel so bad about driving it around? Do I want to “save it for my education” and go to a few parties with it. I just don’t know yet.

Speaking of parties, I want to go to another one. The Democratic Leadership Institute is coming up at the end of the month, so that will mark the one year aniversary of me partying. Since then I have had many flavors of liquor. I won’t go down the list, but too much of it was Budweiser Products. My beer of choice right now is Rolling Rock or Leinekugels Apple Flavored Beer. The worst beer I have had recently is Miller High Life. I have to say, I would prefer the water tasting Bud Lite and urine tasting Busweiser over high life. I love Miller Genuine Draft and would be more than happy to buy a pitcher for friends (maybe with the $50,) but I just can’t stand High Life.

I’ve added the category “Beer” and am also using the catgory “Money.” Beer and Money, I seriously need more of both.

Update June 10th 2006: It is $100 to get a check. At $70 as of writing this.

Binders, Binders, Binders

April 8th, 2006 at 11:17 pm, 3 years ago

I sorta define part of my history by the binders I keep. Every time I go to a leadership event they always give me binders.

There are 4 I will deal with: Student Council Leadership Camp Level 1, SCLC Level 2, SCLC Level 3, ACLU ‘Other America Tour’ Binder, Democratic Leadership Institute Binder (very brief, since most is confidential)… I figure to have this done by… actually, I doubt it will ever be done. But that’s ilrelivant, here is #1.

Servers, Money and a Job

April 7th, 2006 at 10:50 am, 3 years ago

Now that I am in Milwaukee I need to get a job. I guess I have a source of spending cash. Steadfast Networks gives me a commission now and then for servers, but they always sell out the moment I get a sale and I need to wait. They just got some, or so Karl says. Some day Steadfast better get a suite at Lambeau Field (see: Green Bay Packers Stadium) and I better be invited as a regular guest. Maybe they should ask for a demo suite this season. :-)

Over the past week I helped my uncle move out of his house after he split with his wife (sad) and he insists that I must get a job, or J-O-B as he puts it. He wants me working by the end of next week. By the 14th of April. That means a job within 7 days. Fun.

I should have an interview with FedEx-Kinko’s next week, or at least that is what it looks like. I know the dry-cleaner down the street is hiring, but I honestly don’t want to work there. I want to limit my contact with the Milwaukee North Shore as much as possible. The job at Kinko’s would be part time, but it pays well and I guess I can find other stuff to fill up the rest of my day. The extra money every two weeks would really help as I save up for a Macbook Pro.

I have been talking with James over at Bucketworks about getting a consulting/computer gig there. Wouldn’t pay much, but the extra money for doing things partially for a really great non-profit would be great (and possibly a resume builder.) Time Warner Cable’s main corporate headquarters is directly across the street from Bucketworks, so I figure if I send them a few orange buckets with homemade paper arrows, then figure out how to paint a big target across the street that says “Time Warner, please throw bandwidth into target” Bucketworks could end up with more bandwidth than their current partial T1. I am also trying to convince them to move off of their current hosting setup (at Steadfast) to a Virtual Private Server (at Steadfast) :-)
