Guess the Google: Addictive New Google Image Game

April 30th, 2005 at 4:28 pm, 3 years ago

Guess the Google is a wonderful new Flash game that is essentially a backwards Google Image Search. The program will grab 20 thumbnails from Google and you need to guess the one word search that brought all those images together. Rather addictive although rather short game. Enjoy.

Where is Quicktime 7 for Windows?

April 30th, 2005 at 4:17 pm, 3 years ago

With the release of Apple’s Tiger operating system, the question becomes: “OK, So Quicktime 7 is out. Where is the Windows Version?”.

A friend of mine has Tiger, and… according to him… It’s “Amazing.” That remains to be seen, although I do like the entire idea behind the new OS search utility Spotlight.

I have asked a few friends about this, including one who runs an apple site, and they had no idea. H264 isn’t even fully implemented into Video LAN Client, and I am anxious to start seeing some DVD Rips released in the format… Without a Windows Quicktime 7 released simultaneously with the Mac version, does Apple intend for there to be much uptake of this operating system in general?

Survivor outlives, outlasts Bush

April 29th, 2005 at 1:54 am, 3 years ago

I hear that NBC, FOX, and CBS all cut away from President Bush’s primetime address to the nation to get to their May Sweeps programing. I missed the (rarely seen) conference, so I will limit my words.

I am aware that Bush is now considering the “Progressive Indexing” plan brought up by a moderate in front of the committee researching the future of Social Security. Progressive Indexing, as I have seen, is a rather moderate way of dealing with the issue. Perhaps looking into this further would be worthwile. The AARP says (about progressive indexing) “Over Our Dead Bodies.” Bah, maybe they should have gotten their members to vote for Kerry in 2004.

Thanks SFGate.com for the source, and of course Mr. Matt Drudge

iTunes & Zero 7 Goodness

April 28th, 2005 at 12:12 am, 3 years ago

I am a huge Zero 7 fan. Tonight I had the opportunity to listen to our all girls extra-curricular choir perform “Waiting Line.” They heard it off of the Garden State soundtrack, so of course they just HAD to perform it… it was such a “new” thing (the song came out in 2001). Anyways, I had a few free iTunes downloads, so I decided to search Zero 7. Turns out they have a few exclusive Zero 7 tracks. Too bad they are encoded AAC (somehow I just prefer MP3 files, even if they ARE larger). I could always take them and convert them into MP3 format, but my will to Google for it skills seems limited tonight. The songs I got are: “Zero 7- Blue Light Movers” and “Zero 7 - Somersault (Dangermouse Remix).” The Dangermouse remix does a nice job of adding a bit of hip-hop to the background.
